The signal layer for BigCommerce.
You run BigCommerce because it stays open: your ERP on one side, your PIM on the other, storefronts and channels wired in the way your business actually works. That openness is also why your data ends up in a dozen places, and why nothing is watching all of it at once. IdealData standardizes the data across your whole stack and puts the decision in front of you before you go looking.
15-day free trial. No credit card. No developer.
Connects to the platform you already sell on
BigCommerce (B2B is supported)
Installs from the BigCommerce App Marketplace. Read-only, through BigCommerce's official API. No payment card data accessed.
Maria Lopez from Delmar Contracting is on your store now and is actively shopping.
Every data point assist you to help your customers.
A signal is a decision, not a chart.
Every tool you own can tell you what happened. A signal tells you what to do about it, with the reason attached and the work already done. Five days to act beats finding out the shelf is empty.
Leverage the assistant you already use.
IdealData alerts you the moment something needs attention. Your assistant gets everything else: the data from every platform you've connected, already standardized and linked, so it never has to guess which record belongs to what.
Or get signals in Slack, Microsoft Teams, and in-app.
Three signals fired overnight, ordered by revenue at stake.
Would you like to call John Smith at Acme Industrial?
Industrial Respirators: 35 days of stock, 30-day lead time.
Every line below names the system it came from.
Start buying inventory based on your demand
Your ERP has thresholds and you've learned how to purchase based on those thresholds. This often means you will overbuy or underbuy. IdealData takes all necessary parameters that helps you free up cash so its not sitting on your shelves for months.
Integration was the old answer.
You don't run a platform. You run a stack, and it gets longer every year. Storefront, checkout, payments, analytics, ads, email, inventory, purchasing, shipping, support, calls. The old fix was wiring them to each other, one connection at a time, and every tool you added made that map worse. Integration moves data between systems. It was never built to watch any of them.
Add one tool. Four new lines appear.
Every tool draws one line up. A signal surfaces out of the top.
IdealData sits above the whole stack and watches everything that drives revenue. Read-only, through official connections, with no replatforming.
Connecting your systems is the easy part.
Give an assistant ten systems and you get ten versions of your business. The hard part isn't access. It's knowing how the records line up.
Same customer, four records
One buyer is a customer in your store, multiple contacts in your CRM, several callers in call tracking, and an account in inventory. Nothing is clean. We fix it.
Same word, four meanings
Revenue in analytics isn't revenue in your store or your accounting. Time zones, refunds, tax. We reconcile them so one number comes out.
Calculated, not guessed
How many units, from which vendor, by when. That's arithmetic over sell-through, lead time, and open POs. We compute it. No guessing.
"What was revenue last month?"
Three answers. Nothing says which one is real.
"What was revenue last month?"
One number, with the reconciliation shown.
The most expensive thing that happens is nothing.
When a customer who was due to order doesn't, nothing gets recorded. When a delivery doesn't arrive, nothing gets recorded either. No report shows it and no alert fires. Catching what didn't happen takes detection built for exactly that.
The order that did not come in
A customer buys from you about every 27 days, whenever they're running low. Day 41 comes and goes with no order, and nothing in your store notices. We tap you on the shoulder while there's still time to reach out.
The delivery that didn't arrive
You count on purchase orders to have enough stock for your high season. When one runs late, nothing flags it, and the revenue hit shows up weeks later. We tell you the day it's overdue.
7 signals are live and more being added every month.
These are the ones merchants told us cost them the most sleep. New signals are added every month, and you choose which to turn on.
Missed Reorder
LiveA customer with a reorder rhythm goes quiet past their usual interval. You hear about it while there is still time to reach out.
High-Value Cart Abandonment
LiveA cart worth more than 2× your average order goes quiet. A $5,000 cart deserves a different response than a $50 cart.
VIP Cart Abandonment
LiveOne of your top lifetime-value customers abandons a cart, any size. When your best customers hesitate, something is usually wrong.
Late Purchase Order
LiveA vendor purchase order passes its expected date without arriving, putting your high-season stock at risk.
Low Stock
LiveInventory watched against real sell-through and vendor lead time. You hear about a stockout with a month to act, not days.
Pricing Issue
LiveA $129 product live at $12.92, or a price drifted far from margin or market. Caught the moment it goes live.
Live Shopping Assist
LiveA known account is on your store right now, adding to cart. Reach out while they’re still deciding.
Delivered where you already work.
Slack, Microsoft Teams, in-app, or straight into the assistant your team uses. Each signal carries the context to act without going and looking anything up.

Built for merchants with someone to act on it.
IdealData is built for US merchants on Shopify and Shopify Plus who sell physical goods and buy inventory from vendors, typically $5M to $50M in revenue with a team of ten or more. It works whether you sell direct to consumers, to business accounts, or both. Wholesale sellers tend to get the most out of it, because reorder rhythm and purchase-order timing are how their business runs.
- Platform
- BigCommerce and BigCommerce B2B Edition, single or multiple storefronts, brands, or inventory locations.
- Revenue
- Roughly $5M to $50 a year.
- Team
- Ten or more people, with a sales team to act on what comes in.
- What you sell
- Physical goods you buy from vendors and hold in stock.
- How you sell
- Direct to consumers, to business accounts through B2B Edition, or both.
- Where
- United States.
If you sell to business accounts, this is built for you.
Missed Reorder, Live Shopping Assist and VIP Cart Abandonment are not marketing automation. Each one names the account, says what changed, and gives a rep a reason to pick up the phone while there is still time to act. B2B Edition already gives you company accounts and the people who own them. What it does not do is tell you which of those accounts went quiet this week. That is the signal.
Several storefronts, one business.
BigCommerce lets you run separate storefronts off one backend, often a B2C brand and a B2B catalog side by side. Signals read them together and name the storefront, brand or location an alert belongs to, so a stockout in one never hides inside the totals of another.
Your ERP or inventory system connects during onboarding.
Purchase-order and stock signals read from the system where your inventory actually lives. That connection is set up when you onboard, and if yours is not connected yet we add it as part of setup. No developer work on your side.
Read-only, by design.
We connect through official platform connections with read-only permissions. We read what we need to detect signals and change nothing in your store. No payment card data is accessed. Data is encrypted end to end.
Official connections
Platform-issued APIs and OAuth. No scraping, no shared logins.
Read-only scopes
We can't edit a product, an order, or a price. Ever.
No card data
Payment card data is never requested or stored.
Encrypted end to end
In transit and at rest.
I find myself using this a lot. Looking up a customer by name is fast and obvious. It's the kind of small thing that adds up across a week.

Questions worth answering.
Does this work with BigCommerce B2B Edition and multiple storefronts? +
Yes. IdealData reads BigCommerce and BigCommerce B2B Edition, and signals work across multiple storefronts, brands and inventory locations, with the context to tell you which one needs attention. Business accounts are covered by the same reorder, cart and shopping signals as retail buyers, so a quiet company account shows up the same way a quiet consumer does — by name, with its order rhythm and last order attached.
My BigCommerce control panel already reports on all of this. Why do I need this? +
The control panel reports on the store it lives in, and it does that well. The trouble begins with questions that reach data outside BigCommerce: your ERP, your CRM, your marketing suite, your other sales channels. Without clean, unified data across all of those systems, any answer you get is built on a fragment. IdealData standardizes and links the data first, so there is nothing left to guess.
The other difference is that a report waits for you to open it. By the time you are looking, the reorder is late and the cart is cold.
Can't I just connect my systems to Claude or ChatGPT? +
You can connect them (assuming every connection is available). The difficulty is what happens next. The same record often exists in multiple systems with nothing identifying them as the same record. An assistant returns confident answers built on guesses and assumptions, and that produces hallucinations. IdealData unifies the data across many systems and eliminates the guesswork.
Which assistants do you work with? +
IdealData is available as a connector for Claude and ChatGPT. A Grok connector is in early beta. Signals also reach you in Slack, Microsoft Teams, and in-app.
How many signals are live today? +
Seven: Missed Reorder, High-Value Cart Abandonment, VIP Cart Abandonment, Late Purchase Order, Low Stock, Pricing Issue, and Live Shopping Assist. All seven are available on BigCommerce. New signals are added every month, they are included in your plan, and you choose which to turn on.
How is this different from Google Analytics? +
Google Analytics tells you what happened. IdealData tells you what needs your attention right now, and why. We use GA4 as one of our data sources — we don't replace it, we make it actionable.
Will this require a developer? +
No. Install from the BigCommerce App Marketplace, approve read-only access, and connect the rest of your stack with a few clicks. No theme edits, no storefront script, no replatforming. Most merchants are live within 24 hours.
How does the 15-day free trial work? +
No credit card required. Full access to every live signal for 15 days. If it's not useful, walk away with no charge. If it is, pick the plan that fits your volume and business needs.
What does it cost after the trial? +
Plans are a monthly platform fee by business size plus per-signal usage. Most merchants between $1M and $10M are on Business at $197/month; above $10M, Corporation at $597/month. Startup is $29/month under roughly $1M, and Enterprise is quoted. Per-signal rates fall as the plan grows, so a startup pays less than a corporation for the same signal. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
What data do you access? Is it secure? +
We connect through BigCommerce's official API with read-only permissions. No payment card data is accessed, and nothing is ever written back to your store. All data is encrypted end to end.
Which ERP or inventory system do you connect to? +
Purchase-order and stock signals read from your ERP or inventory system, whichever one your inventory actually lives in. That connection is set up during onboarding, and if yours is not connected yet we add it as part of setup. There is no developer work on your side, and nothing to replatform.
